Uptight
I have recently realized that I am way too uptight. I will relax and not let silly things bother me.

A Few of My Favorite Things
Nigirizushi also known as Nigiri Sushi.
This is one of my favorite sushi selections. The shrimp is delicious, the rice is phenomenal and the tiny bit of wasabi gives it a small zing. I do prefer my sushi with seafood rather than fish, sadly. I just can’t get into the beautiful tunas and other fish my mother savors.

Stop It
I’ve decided there’s a new trend in typing that I really cannot stand. People all over now seem to have the need to, instead of adding related sentence fragments onto their sentences with a semicolon or other appropriate punctuation, they will simply end the sentence, then start the new one off with “Plus,” and continue on.
Example: ”Dick and Jane bought ice cream. Plus, Dick got sprinkles on his!”
Agh! This drives me nuts! Absolutely nuts!
“Dick and Jane bought ice cream–Dick got sprinkles on his!”
It’s more effort to sound stupid! For the love of all that is holy just use an em dash, use an en dash, press the hyphen button twice, use a freaking semicolon; just stop using “plus”! Unless you’re writing about math, just quit it. Organize your thoughts and put some effort into it. People that do this look stupid.
Every person that does this ought to be made to pay back the tax payers for the secondary and high school educations they were generously given since they’re obviously not going to be bothered to use them! If they went to college and got a grant, they should have to pay that back too. Give people some freaking incentive to sound a bit literate!

A Moment of Silence
[Edit] Pretend there wasn’t a lot of completely incoherent babbling here. ^_^

Annoyances
On this weblog, I try to stay upbeat and positive. There are some days, however, that the ability to do this escapes me and I dissolve into a puddle of whining and contempt. Accompanying rant to follow.
Why on God’s green Earth do people seem to not care to read thoroughly or bother to spell properly? It takes more effort to spell words like an illiterate fool than it does to spell things right. I know these people went to school! It’s not hard! You have tools to help you if you’re a poor speller or have a handicap of some sort. Spellcheck. Some programs will underline misspelled words as you type! It’s sheer, utter laziness.
I dislike typing something into an IM box when chatting with a person, them not even bothering to read it in it’s entirety, then asking me a question I’ve already provided the answer to–if they’d have bothered to take the extra time to read. Most of the time my answer to such a thing is “I’ve already answered that. Thank you for not reading what I wrote–it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that you care to take the time to communicate with me. Feel free to skim it again 6 or 7 times whilst I go away from my keyboard for a few minutes.”
It seems like the entire planet is in such a huge hurry that they forget how to communicate.
I hate it all. Just slow down and show some respect! If you don’t want to put some effort into talking to me, then just don’t! I utterly refuse to repeat myself anymore. You didn’t read it? Your loss. If you’ve got no time for me, I haven’t got time for you.

One Day
Hello y’all!
One more day until National Stuff Yourself With Food Day! I am excited. Sure, holidays have lost most of their meaning and have turned into retail glut. That doesn’t make it any less fun for me. I still spend it with my family while we cook and talk to my friends–both of which are my support and strength in even the most trying situations. They love me even when I whine like a 5 year old; they love me no matter how stupid I am.
I love you, family and friends! You make life worth living!
I am quite excited this year. I’ve lost 2 pant sizes! I’m happily sitting in my new jeans and am just so proud of myself. Eat right and exercise! That’s the only way to do it.

Parmesan Goldfish
Parmesan Goldfish are really tasty. I enjoy original cheddar ones too, but you get more of these. More snacking on one serving.
I’m down to a diet of Orange Juice, Chicken Soup and Nyquil. Cold season hath arrived! I must admit the beautiful weather we’ve been having is quite out of season, but I will not complain about it one bit. Warm sun, cold wind, beautiful trees. Can we have this all year ’round? I can only wish.
I’m munching on Parmesan Goldfish at the moment. There is a glass of Orange Juice next to me, slowly getting warmer. I’m trying to drink it before it gets warm though.
Dad is in town. I have nothing positive to say about this.
Thanksgiving is next week! Shall we remember all of the good in the world and be thankful for it and for family and friends? I think that’s a splendid idea.
I am thankful for what I have.

Errands Are For The Organized
Running errands is fun sometimes. I get to get out, roll my windows down, breathe in the cold, crisp, fresh air and look at all of the trees turning to their lovely Autumn shades. We are having simply gorgeous weather for November. I’m loathe to complain about it because it is warm, with a cold breeze and lovely foliage. Perfect, in my view.
I haven’t been to work at the office for a while now. Grandma fractured her shoulder back in September so I’ve been home helping her all this time. It’s nice. We’ve had a lot of time to chat about everything. I’ve gotten to drive her to various appointments in her luxurious mini-van. I don’t oft get to drive it, and it’s so smooth on the road. Not like my little black car that rattles your teeth off. But I love my little car. We’ve seen a lot together.
I get to go back next week and work with my co-worker while our Office Manager goes on Thanksgiving Holiday. She needs a break! I’m sure I’ll have a nice list of stuff to do. Not just monkeying numbers! I really think that’s what my title should be on my business card: Number Monkey. We all giggle about it, but it’d be neat! I’d have a very unique business card.
I get my brother from college at 5, so I’m going to have my chatty time with Dew and then drift off for a quick nap. I’m about worn out from all of the activity this week so far. Hehehe!
Hugs and Giggles,
Pi

Popping In To Say Hello
Well hello there! I haven’t posted in quite a while! So much has gone on since I last wrote.
My doctor diagnosed me with depression in August-ish and put me on 5mg of Paxil. In September he quadrupled the dose to 20mg. My most recent visit was this month. My doseage was doubled to 40mg of Paxil. In all fairness, it was for the best. My doseage was upped because Dad is moving back to town.
Normally that wouldn’t be a factor to double someone’s medication. Except I do not like my father. He is crazy, (schizophrenic to be more precise,) and fried from the Methamphetamine he still takes. I wish he was not moving here. My life is good and peaceful. He chose not to be in it long ago, and I wish he would have stayed out.
This will be the 3rd year without Grandpa with us. It’s still hard to have family dinners with his space empty at the table but I feel he’s watching over us with a grin and knowing we’re all doing ok.
Well I’m off to do some errands for the office for now. I’ll post a bit more later.
Keep grinning everyone!
Love,
Pi!

Dear Tim Brooks
I read this article, and it annoyed me!
http://www.tvweek.com/news/2009/03/sci_fi_channel_aims_to_shed_ge.php
“”Human-friendly”? So what are we if not humans patronizing your channel?
I’m sorry you don’t think any of your viewers are female. My mother and I would have to disagree with that particular point of view.
I’m a geek because I like computers, play World of Warcraft, and can learn to use a new computer program within 10 minutes at a above-basic level. I’m not a geek because I happen to like to watch “Science Fiction” on the…*gasp* Science Fiction channel!
All of that aside…I love being a geek! ^_^
